Time for Fun at the Purple Flamingo Beach Party

Hello everyone,

Andy here. It's still early in the season and we are attending all the events we can. Even so I bet quite a few people are wondering, "Gee, when is Andy going to announce "The Purple Flamingo Beach Party?" Well, give me a minute here and I will tell you.

Purple Flamingo, or PF as we call it, will open its doors on Monday the 27th of March. A little bigger and a little grander than before. Every year we try to out do ourselves a little. We want to bring you even more fun to have while we are all helping to raise funds for RFL.

Oh, I can just hear you now. "Like what, Andy?" Well, hold your horses and let me get a word in here. First off, in keeping with the "Hope Floats" theme, all the usual available campsites are actually houseboats! Please feel free to decorate them as you see fit, whatever floats your boat. Floats your boat, get it? Ummm, right. "But Andy, what if we have vendors we want to put out?" Fear not, we will have stalls available to do just that.

Now we have this place just packed with fun things to do. A huge, and I mean huge, water slide. A carnival when you can play the games and win those stuffed animal prizes that you are used to winning at carnivals. Bumper boats, mini golf and all sorts of other activities are available. There will be both daily and weekly raffles galore.

"Really Andy, thats it?" Not even remotely! Each day we will hold a dance, sometimes two, have an event or activity for the day and each day will have a different movie at our Drive in! Yes, we have an actual drive in Theater!

So, you ready for this?

Monday - We start of with our very own award winning DJ Stormy from 5-7 slt. There will be time for the bumper boats and the carnival before and after. The movie for that day will "The Lost Boys."

Tuesday - Tuesday is a big day! We have an evening with Kris Composer, the most excellent live singer, from 5-6. From 6- 7: 30 will be "Cars tribute concert"! The movie for that day will be "CaddyShack"

Wednesday - We will be holding our 3rd annual USO dance! Come join us for some great big band sounds! Come in uniform if you can, or just come as you as long as you come. After that we will be holding a bingo night! The movie that day will be "FootLoose"

Thursday - From 5-7 we will holding another DJ Dance. Carnival games will ensue from 7-8. The movie for that day will be "Grease"

Friday - Another DJ Dance but with a theme! 80's Prom night! Relive your senior Prom again with us from 4-6. From 6-7:30 will be a "Michael Jackson tribute concert" The movie for that day will be "Back to the Future"

Saturday - Dj dance but it will have totally Disco Theme! The 70's live again! Join us for that from 4-6. At 6-7: 30 we will have a "Fleetwood Mac tribute concert." The movie for that day will be "Dirty Dancing"

Sunday - Come enjoy all Purple Flamingo has to offer on this last day! Join us from 6-7 :30 for a "Beach Boys tribute concert."! The movie that day will be "Bay Watch"

That enough for you? Don't be surprised if we don't throw in a little something or other at the last minute either. We tend to do that sometimes. Come join us for some fun in the sun! Help us raise the Lindens we need to help beat cancer once and for all!
